There is something to be said for installing a hot tub indoors.  First off, you have 100% privacy.  No one peeking over your wall, and year round use are some of the benefits.  However, before  you rush off to convert your son's room now that he's gone to college, you need to be aware of a few things first.
First off, is where you're going to install your hot tub ventilated properly? A hot tub produces a great deal of steam, roughly equivalent to a 15 minute shower.  With moisture also comes the risk of mildew and mold, neither of which are good for your health.  In addition, you have to make sure that your floor can take the weight of a hot tub.  A hot tub is not light.  Your floor has to be able to take the weight of four people, the tub itself, and all of the water as well.  There is also a matter of logistics.

Hot Tub Installation:  Will it Fit?

Will your hot tub fit in the space indoors?  Will you be able to get the tub through the door, or will you need to knock out a wall?  Do you have sufficient drainage for your hot tub?  Is your floor waterproof or just water resistant?  You need to know the answer to questions like these.  In addition, you have to consider wiring for your tub.  A larger hot tub is  going to need  a circuit that has GCFI protection.   If you have an older home, you may need to rewire a bit.  All of these considerations aren't meant to dissuade you from installing a hot tub inside.
In fact, an informed consumer is a shrewd buyer.  That way you're not just getting a hot tub.  You're getting the best hot tub ever.
This concludes part two of our series.  Be sure to read part one as well for more information on hot tub installation.
