Using a hot tub can help you manage arthritis pain.  One of the worst symptoms of any form of arthritis is the level of pain that you will have to deal with.  Because soaking in a tub significantly improves circulation while at the same time reducing pain, it allows a person with arthritis to live a better life.  Is a hot tub the key to overcoming arthritis?  No, but it can make arthritis less painful.  While arthritis does not have a cure,  there are ways to make arthritis easier.  For one thing, keep your weight down.  The less stress you put on your joints the better you will feel.  Movement is also important.  Learn to move all of your joints and get regular exercise.  Oddly enough, some of the best exercise for arthritis is simple walking.  You read that correctly.  Not power walking, not speed walking.  Just go out for a walk.
Using a hot tub to help with arthritis doesn't give you an excuse to not go see your doctor nor to stop taking your medications.  Your doctor can also help you manage arthritis pain, and while a hot tub can be a very important part of pain management, it isn't everything you'll need.Take your medicines when you're supposed to. They can also help you to reduce both your pain as well as any stiffness you may be encountering.

What to Know About Hot Tub Use

As with anything connected to a medical condition such as arthritis, make sure that your doctor knows about your hot tub use.  He or she can tell you how much you should use your hot tub, and what to watch out for.
So remember, getting arthritis doesn't have to be the end of the world.  You can make a difference by making a few changes here and there, and adding some things that into your lifestyle.  Read up on new treatments, and join support forums for other people that have arthritis.  Be a bit more active, and one of the best things that you can do is to use a hot tub to help your arthritis.
This concludes part two of our series.  For more information on how hot tubs can help arthritis, please read part one as well.
