How Can a Hot Tub Help You Bounce Back?

Let's say you want to workout.  But everyday life sometimes intervenes.  Your significant other wants to watch a movie on television, and you get to bed with just enough time to sleep before you head off to work.  One thing leads to another and the next thing you know, it's been a month since you last exercised.  You head off to the yoga studio, the dojo, the gym, or wherever.  Your muscles are going to be flatter when you're just starting back, which means they are going to hurt a lot particularly if you overdo it.  You don't want to lose your drive to workout, and when you're aching you can.  That's why you should use a hot tub post workout to help.
It isn't a coincidence that a lot of upper end health clubs and gyms have both a pool and a hot tub.  If you soak  in a hot tub right after you workout for between 15-30 minutes your muscles are going to have increased circulation, which means the rebuilding process is going to be accelerated somewhat. Is soaking in a tub all you're going to need after working out?  Of course not.  You're also going to need to eat within an hour of completing your workout, and a meal that is rich with protein, and complex carbohydrates. However, a hot tub is a good intermediate step.

What Can a Hot Tub Do For Me After a Workout

Let's look at weightlifting.  If you do weightlifting the right way, regardless of whether you are trying for strength, definition, or endurance, you should have muscles that are a bit sore after you workout.  At first you may not feel it too bad, and that's where the danger lies.  You want to get circulation going to the areas you worked on as soon as you possibly can to help them to heal.  Otherwise, tomorrow or the next day, you're going to be aching a lot.
There is a difference between living and living well.  If you exercise and eat right your body will benefit, as will your mind.  So remember, exercise along with eating right are both crucial to a healthy lifestyle.  And after you exercise, make sure you finish it off with time in a hot tub in Phoenix.

Hot tubs have proven health benefits.  Sometimes they can also help with an ailment that affects millions of people in the US: arthritis

How can a hot tub help with arthritis?  First off, know that according to the National Institute of  Arthritis and Musculosketal and Skin Diseases:
"There are several types of arthritis. The two most common ones are osteoarthritis (AH-stee-oh-ar-THRY-tis) and rheumatoid (ROO-mah-toyd) arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. This condition usually comes with age and most often affects the fingers, knees, and hips. Sometimes osteoarthritis follows an injury to a joint. Rheumatoid arthritis happens when the body’s own defense system doesn’t work properly. It affects joints and bones (often of the hands and feet), and may also affect internal organs and systems.  Another common type of arthritis, gout, is caused by crystals that build up in the joints. It usually affects the big toe, but many other joints may be affected..." SOURCE ARTICLE
Because of the buoyancy, heat, and massaging jets that a hot tub employs, an arthritis patient can really benefit from using a hot tub.  How?  Well, lower pain levels for one thing.  Improved mobility is another bonus of using a hot tub. All of these things lend themselves to a better quality of life.  In short hot tubs help with arthritis.  And arthritis is not just a disease of the elderly as a lot of people think.

Arthritis and Hot Tubs

Even young people can get arthritis.  While older people are more prone to it, it isn't confined to the over fifty crowd.  There is no cure for arthritis.  It is possible however to control its symptoms.  One of the best ways is to use a hot tub.

The human body is a miraculous system.  Running throughout your body is your body's circulation system.  When you're healthy, your circulation helps to not only carry blood throughout your body, it also helps your body to process nutrients and get rid of waste.  When circulation starts to suffer, a bunch of health problems can come up, and some of them are dangerous, such as high blood pressure and heart disease.  That's why you want to find a way to improve circulation.  And one proven way is by using a hot tub.
In our last article, we covered using a spa for stress relief.  However, improving your circulation is also a benefit of using a hot tub.  When your body temperature changes, your veins react to it by either constricting when it is colder, and expanding when it is warmer.  As a hot tub uses water that is hotter than your body temperature, you will find your circulation will also increase.  As your circulation increases, your body is better able to fight off illness and injury a lot better than it used to, and a lot of your aches and pains will disappear as well.

Hot Tubs, Health, and Happiness

There is an interesting correlation between how healthy we are, and how happy we are. A lot of times people who are physically healthy also have a great deal of energy and emotional reserves to deal with life stresses and as

Install a Hot Tub in Time for the Big Game

It's time to install a hot tub in time for the Big Game.   Here are some points to be aware of, however.

Hot Tub Installation:  Which Option Is Best for You?

If you wish to install a hot tub, you have several options available to you regarding a hot tub base.  These options range from cheap to expensive, and each have their pluses and minuses.  These options are: spa pads, installing a deck, concrete slabs, and gravel bases. Both concrete slabs and installing a deck are sturdy and durable, however, they also require you to get someone with a bit of know how to put them in, and they obviously lock you down on where you're going to put your hot tub.
Prefabricated spa pads are relatively inexpensive, and are fairly easy to assemble.  And if  you decide to move the hot tub, they are also easy to disassemble as well because they're made of interlocking pieces.  Their only real drawback is that you may need to chemically treat them to keep them from cracking as they are essentially resin or plastic.
Probably the cheapest and lowest effort solution of a base for your hot tub is to to use crushed rock or gravel. Before you put down the gravel, however, make sure to compact the ground and that you've come up with a drainage solution, both for any rainfall and for overflow from the tub.

What Does a Hot Tub Have to Do With the Big Game?

Well for one thing, a hot tub is a great way to enjoy any sort of sports.  You can sit and soak, and jump out every now and then to get a drink or nibble on some food.  After all, there have been a great many football games played in University of Phoenix Stadium, including some big ones.
Using a hot tub is a great way to relax, and it's not just for football.  Hot tubs are very versatile.  They can be used for a movie night or a date night.  However, I think it's clear that  a hot tub in Glendale goes well with the Big Game.

Hot Tubs and Exercise Part 3: Stretch it Out

Be sure to read part one and part two of this series on hot tubs and exercise. This article will explore the importance of incorporating stretching into your workouts.

Stretching and Hot Tub Use

Hot tubs are a good way to round out a workout, but what about stretching?  Stretching is very important type of exercise.   Not only does it improve your flexibility, it also  helps you to develop great muscle tone, as well as helping to minimize or eliminate cramps.  Most people stretch all the time and don't even know it.

When you wake up in the morning, like most people, you probably stretch instinctively and yawn. What do you do when you're on a long road trip and you get out of the car? You stretch your legs while you're getting gas.   Yoga isn't just a form of meditation, it's also stretching.  Stretching is part of any fitness regimen. To reduce the risks of injury, athletes stretch before and after exercise.  Like using a hot tub, stretching can be dangerous if you're not doing it right.   You run the risk of spraining a muscle or even tearing a ligament if you don't stretch right. However, the health benefits from stretching far outweigh it's potential dangers.

Hot Tubs and Stretching: Perfect Partners

As if flexibility weren't enough, did you know that stretching also improves your  balanceand improves stamina?  It does. Also, like using a hot tub, it helps with blood circulation.  In addition,  lot of people don't know that stretching also helps to improve overall well-being.  There are four different types of stretching: static, ballistic, propioceptive  neuromuscular facilitation, and dynamic stretching. Ballistic stretching is a rapid stretch that involves bouncing. Static stretching is a type of stretch involved holding the stretch for thirty seconds without any movement. Propioceptive  neuromuscular facilitation is a stretching method that targets specific muscle groups. As to when to stretch, that' s also important.

First off, it's never good to stretch without warming up first.  Without a properly warmed up muscle, stretching can cause more harm than good.  A good rule of thumb is to do some sort of brisk exercise for about 3-4 minutes, stretch out, and then exercise.  At the end of your workout, stretch again.  And how do you wrap it all up?  Soak in a hot tub for about 30 minutes.

Hot Tubs and Exercise Part 2

Part two of a two part series on hot tubs and exercise explores the effect that exercise has on your metabolism and explores some helpful weight loss secrets without dieting.

Using a Phoenix Hot Tub:  Exercise and Its Effects on the Body

Install a Phoenix Hot Tub  | (480) 656-7267
Most people are aware that using a hot tub is a good way of relaxing, however, after a workout it is also very beneficial in keeping your metabolism operating at peak efficiency.  Why does keeping your metabolism high matter?  Well, for one thing, your metabolic rate determines how your body processes calories.  As we age, our metabolism naturally slows down.  As a result, we can eat less and less and still gain wait or find it harder to shed excess pounds.  Every couple of years a new diet by some expert comes out.  There will be several endorsements, and a book deal, but to save you a lot of money and heartache, a lot of diets are either A) potentially harmful B) useless  and C) all of the above.  You can lose a bit of weight at first, however, it will plateau quickly, and then you won't be losing any more weight, that is until the follow up diet comes out.  Most doctors agree that a healthy lifestyle including exercise, good eating habits and getting enough rest are surefire ways of losing weight.

Using a hot tub helps your body maintain it's higher metabolic rate by allowing blood flow from your inner core to go outward, and be circulated.  Also, using a hot tub helps you to relax, which in turn helps you to sleep better.  If you get enough sleep every night, you will also find that losing weight is a lot easier.

Hot Tubs in Phoenix: Lifestyle Changes

Using a hot tub is part of a healthy lifestyle.  One of the most proven and deadliest factors in hypertension, heart disease and other serious health issues is a high level of stress.  Exercise of any sort is good for fighting stress as well as helping to combat some more serious health problems.  Hot tubs and exercise are only part of it.

Getting enough rest, as we discussed above, is important.  Another thing to be aware of is that you want to watch what you eat.  You don't want to diet, just make a few healthy substitutions here and there and control your portions.  You will find that the combination of getting enough rest as well as enough exercise are great first steps to take.  The best step of all however, is to install and use a hot tub.
