Hot Tubs:  Effective Back Pain Relief

A hot tub is one of the most effective ways of treating back pain.  According to the site LIVESTRONG.COM: "Although heating pads and hot packs are effective, a hot tub or bath is an effective way to apply heat to a large area of the body. Heat works by relaxing surrounding muscles, which can reduce muscle spasms; it also dilates the blood vessels, increasing blood flow and promoting healing in the injured tissue. As the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases states, heat also “alters the sensation of pain”—in other words, it feels good and provides much-needed relief for acute or chronic back pain. Surprisingly, if you use a hot tub for pain relief, it also improves your overall health as well.  Why?  Well, it is all due to what causes pain in your body.  Pain is usually due to inflammation of some sort of tissue.  When there is inflammation in your body, your body has to divert resources to try to combat the source of pain.  The more pain you are in, the weaker your body is going to be as well as the fact that your health won't be good either.  Look at someone who has arthritis in their back for example.  People with spinal arthritis often have a stooped posture, which means that it is putting pressure on their midsection and torso.  This in turn causes inflammation of other areas as well.  Using a hot tub in this way reduces the inflammation throughout the body, and especially targets your back.  So  your posture will improve as will your breathing.  If your breathing gets better, your blood will be more oxygenated.  The more oxygen your bloodstream gets, the better off  your organs will be as well.

Relieving Stress on Your System

Stress is unavoidable in life.  However, the more stress you're under, the more at risk you are for a lot of serious health problems.  You want to make sure that you reduce stress whenever possible, particularly on your body's systems.  Stress compromises your body's immune responses and can contribute to hypertension and heart disease.  So it is critical to reduce stress, and using a hot tub is a great way to do this.

Health and Well-Being:  Improved Circulation Vs. a Sedentary Lifestyle

Improved circulation is one of the many health benefits of using a hot tub.  It is imperative for a long and healthy life to be physically active and improve your circulation.  A sedentary lifestyle on the other hand is a slow spiral towards poor health, unhappiness and health problems such as obesity, stiffness, and lack of circulation.
In our last article, we covered some of the benefits of improved circulation, but here are some surprising ones.  First off, if your circulation is good, did you know that it can make you better able to handle a crisis when it comes up?  It can.  When  you exercise strenuously, it makes your heart pump faster.  This means that your arteries and veins dilate and blood flow improves significantly.  With properly oxygenated blood, endorphin production occurs in your body.  As your endorphin level rises, you are calm, and filled with a sense of well-being.  All very interesting, but what does this have to do with a hot tub?

Hot Tub Use Post Workout

After your workout, your muscles are going to ache and be very tired.  As a result of this, your body will be producing toxins not endorphins.  Later on in the day after you have recovered from your workout, your endorphin level will rise, however, if you use a hot tub, you will accelerate this process.  You will find yourself having a very large amount of energy that will last you throughout the day.  And if you exercise early in the day, when you get home, you will find that you are able to fall asleep faster and stay asleep.  A good night's sleep is one of the most important things that you can have for optimal health.  Using a hot tub is part of a healthy daily routine that will improve your circulation as well as your quality of life.
So remember, a healthy lifestyle is  important for a long and healthy life.  So get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and exercise regularly.  And after each and every workout, make sure that you fuel your body with lots of protein and complex carbohydrates.  Most importantly of all, spend a few minutes each day soaking in a hot tub.

Hot Tub:  Workouts and Stress Relief

Another way of relieving stress is to exercise.  Whether you want to do hard session of weight training or a brisk power walk, all forms of exercise are not just good for your overall health, they are excellent ways for resolving stress.  Before you do any form of exercise, consult your physician and also make sure that you warm up and stretch, particularly if you are planning a strenuous workout.  Make sure that you exercise a minimum of three times a week, and drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workout.  And make sure that you do something to help your muscles relax after any workout.
Hot tubs are great for a post workout soak.  Should you use a hot tub before you exercise?  Generally it is recommended to use a hot tub after a workout.  When you use a hot tub, your body will have some naturally occurring soporific compounds present in your bloodstream, so working out will  be harder.  Another thing you want to do right after a strenuous workout is to eat a healthy meal rich in protein and complex carbohydrates.  Your body will be needing glycogen and other nutrients. Exercising is a great way of relieving stress, however, there are other ways of stress relief that should be considered as well.

Stress Relief:  Learn to Breathe and Let Go

If you ever get stressed out, something as simple as breathing the right way can help you relax.  A lot of times, when people are in a stressful situation, their breath gets shallow.  If you take deep breaths, at least ten of them, it will help you to relax.  Also, make sure to relax your shoulders as well.  A lot of times, people naturally tense up when they are stressed, which is one of the main causes of muscular tension.  When you use a hot tub in conjunction with deep breathing, it can make a big difference in helping you to relax.
So remember, while it is impossible to eliminate stress completely from our lives, it is possible to reduce it and its effects.  So get plenty of rest, and exercise regularly.  Take a few deep breaths every now and then, and soak in a hot tub.

Hot Tubs and Improving Your Health Pt 1

Part one of a series of hot tubs and improving your health explores their use along with exercise.

Hot Tubs and Your Workout

There's nothing like a good workout to keep you on the road to good health.  Improved energy and stamina, reduced stress, the benefits connected with exercise have all been fairly well documented.  And using a hot tub right after exercise is one of the best things that you can do right after you exercise.  Why? Well, there are several things that you need to do after a workout.  First off, make sure you're hydrated.  Drink plenty of water to replenish what you've lost while you were exercising.  Follow your workout with something to eat that goes well with the type of workout you've just completed such as high protein and low-fat to build muscle, high levels of complex-carbohydrates for aerobic activity or cardiovascular exercise, and some way of helping your muscles bounce back.
Using a hot tub improves blood flow and circulation to the areas that you've exercised.  As such, it helps the muscles to begin rebuilding themselves and helps you to reap the benefits that come with exercise.  Using a spa works, no matter what type of exercise you've been doing.

Exercise and Hot Tub Use

Look at someone who has just come back from an evening jog or run.  He or she is going to be a bit tired, and a bit sore if they've pushed it.  A hot tub will not only take away the aches and pains connected with the run, but it will help our runner bounce back from the workout quicker so they can do it again tomorrow.  The same holds true for weight training.  Whether you are lifting for strength, body sculpting, endurance, or some combination of them all, you are going to be aching if you've worked out strenuously.   Different types of workouts produce different types of results.  Using a hot tub, however, produces almost universal results in everyone who uses one.
So remember, if you're exercising, keep up the good work.  People that exercise tend to be healthier, happier, and live fuller lives.  Just be sure to support a fitness lifestyle the right ways.  Keep your sodium down, and watch what you eat.  Get plenty of rest between workouts, and drink a lot of water.  And most of all, don't forget the way that you can really help your body after a workout:  use a hot tub to relax.

Health Benefits of Hot Tub Use Part 1

Part one of a series on health benefits of hot tub use explores stress relief.

Stress Relief and Hot Tubs

Hot Tub Use Can Help with Stress Relief | (480) 656-7267

Stress is a big time problem in America.  If you're like most people, you probably have a lot of things on your mind.  Financial worries,  family problems, stress at home, stress at school, stress at work, the list goes on and on.  Now, more than ever it is a good idea to manage your stress via various methods.  One way to minimize the physiological effects of stress on your body is to exercise, and a perfect follow up to that is regular hot tub use.
Have you ever wondered why people who get massages are more serene and tranquil than you are?  Well, for one, therapeutic massage is proven to release endorphins, which are your body's 100% natural feel good chemicals that are produced with the right stimulation.  Endorphins are also notable in that they naturally fight stress.  Using a hot tub gives you 24X7 access to your own in house massage parlor or salon without having to tip a massage therapist or spend a lot of money per session.

Hot Tubs and Relaxation

Hot tubs are one of the best ways to relax. Just by soaking in a hot tub for a few minutes at the end of a bad day can make your mind and body relax.  As your body relaxes, and your stress has been relieved, a curious set of effects happen.  For one thing, you get a better night's sleep.  You wake up naturally, and you are less likely to be stressed even the next day.  Since your body isn't working so hard to relax you, you'll also have much more energy for your daily routine.
So remember, stress is never good for you.  Find whatever methods of relaxation you can.  One of the best ways is of course to buy a hot tub.
This concludes part one of our series.  For more information on health benefits of hot tub use, be sure to read part two and part three as well.

Hot Tubs in Glendale and Stress Relief Part 1

Part one of a series on hot tubs explores the benefits of regular hot tub use.

Hot Tub Use: Picking Your Tub

Hot Tubs in Glendale | Call Us Today | 623-776-7727
Hot tubs in Glendale are a great addition to your home. The most stressful day can disappear fairly quickly by simply thinking about the fact that a tub filled with hot water and bubbles is waiting for you.
Hot tub use provides many proven benefits. However, before you soak in a tub, you have to get one. You have to ask 'which hot tub is right for me?' Well, first off, you want to know what your budget is. Know what your water use is going to be, and the changes to your power bill. These charges are recurring, above the amount that the hot tub is going to cost. Measure the area you have in mind before you buy.

How Big Of a Hot Tub Will I Need?

How big a hot tub you're going to need is determined by how many people will be using it at any one time. If you have at most two or three people using your tub, then obviously, one that holds 6-8 people is too big. Inversely, if you have hot tub parties, and you buy a tub designed for two, people are going to have to wait in line. Another thing to consider is access. If you have a lot of people using the tub, you may want to get additional accessories, such as hot tub steps to allow for easy access on multiple sides.
Above all else, when it is time to hunt for a spa, look at places that sell them. You want someplace that is preferably local, and someone experienced. That way, you get the hot tub in Glendale that not only is the best buy, but the one that is best for you.
