Hot Tub Installation Part 1: Outdoor Installation

Part one of a series on hot tub installation explores installing in the more traditional of locations: outdoors.

If you want to look at outdoor locations, here are several ideas of where to install a hot tub in Chandler First off, you want your hot tub to be put somewhere private, so that rules out your front yard unless it is walled off.   Most homeowners associations and city governments would probably not like a tub in your front yard in any event, so you want to stay on the right side of the law and or your HOA's rules.  If not, you're probably going to be paying some excessive fines from both the city government and your HOA as well.
You also want to install your hot tub where you won't have to worry about water damage, so don't put it near an expensive flower bed or near the foundation of your home.  A good place is in the back yard, somewhere with either a concrete slab or pre-fabricated spa pad.  Installation, however is one of the last steps you want to plan out.  First off, you have to figure out what your budget is for your hot tub.

Buy a Hot Tub That You Can Afford

Knowing your budget is key before you buy a hot tub in Chandler.  The cost of the tub is just the beginning.  You also want to make sure that you're going to be able to afford accessories such as hot tub steps, spa covers, and chemicals of course.  In addition, you want to be able to afford the water bill as well as the electric bill each month.  So, while it is fun to contemplate having a hot tub that holds 50 people, unless you live in a mega mansion, you're probably better with a 4-6 person tub instead.
So, remember, life is all about choices.  Choose well where your tub is going to go, and  how big it's going to be.  Then you won't just have a tub, you'll have the best hot tub ever.

Install a Hot Tub in Time for the Big Game

It's time to install a hot tub in time for the Big Game.   Here are some points to be aware of, however.

Hot Tub Installation:  Which Option Is Best for You?

If you wish to install a hot tub, you have several options available to you regarding a hot tub base.  These options range from cheap to expensive, and each have their pluses and minuses.  These options are: spa pads, installing a deck, concrete slabs, and gravel bases. Both concrete slabs and installing a deck are sturdy and durable, however, they also require you to get someone with a bit of know how to put them in, and they obviously lock you down on where you're going to put your hot tub.
Prefabricated spa pads are relatively inexpensive, and are fairly easy to assemble.  And if  you decide to move the hot tub, they are also easy to disassemble as well because they're made of interlocking pieces.  Their only real drawback is that you may need to chemically treat them to keep them from cracking as they are essentially resin or plastic.
Probably the cheapest and lowest effort solution of a base for your hot tub is to to use crushed rock or gravel. Before you put down the gravel, however, make sure to compact the ground and that you've come up with a drainage solution, both for any rainfall and for overflow from the tub.

What Does a Hot Tub Have to Do With the Big Game?

Well for one thing, a hot tub is a great way to enjoy any sort of sports.  You can sit and soak, and jump out every now and then to get a drink or nibble on some food.  After all, there have been a great many football games played in University of Phoenix Stadium, including some big ones.
Using a hot tub is a great way to relax, and it's not just for football.  Hot tubs are very versatile.  They can be used for a movie night or a date night.  However, I think it's clear that  a hot tub in Glendale goes well with the Big Game.

Installing a Hot Tub Part 3

Part three of a series on installing a hot tub explores some final points.

Hot Tub Installation:  Installing an Outdoor Hot Tub

As a rule, if you are installing a hot tub, it's usually put outside.  In our last article, we covered making sure you have a firm base for it, but what about a way to get to it?  Do you have a path around your hot tub and leading to it?  And not just any path, a path that someone can conceivably walk on barefoot?  A lot of time people aren't as cautious as they should be with the paving stones they create.  Concrete is fine, however, you don't want it too rough.  Otherwise you're going to be wincing as you step on it.  You also want a clear path that will cut down on the debris that will end up in the hot tub.  While it is possible to do it later, doing it before hand makes the transition easier.  Now you have a way to it, what is your hot tub going to rest on?
If you have  at least a week or maybe even two before you get your hot tub delivered,  concrete is an ideal solution for the hot tub base. It  won't be cheap, but it will add value to your property. A reinforced concrete base at minimum should be 4 inches thick and be able to support a ton or more of weight.

How Long After I Pour My Concrete Before I install a Hot Tub?

First off, check the weather report.  You do not want to put any concrete down if there is a chance of rain or high humidity.  Otherwise, your concrete will take a lot longer to dry, and you run the risk of cracking it.  Once the concrete is dry, and cured, then you want to probably seal your concrete to prevent water damage.  Then you can install your hot tub at that time.
So remember, preparing for a hot tub is almost as important as purchasing one.  If you have any questions, get on the phone to your hot tub dealer in Glendale.

Installing a Hot Tub Part 2

Part two of a series on installing a hot tub explores more installation must haves.

Installing a Hot Tub:  Make Sure You Have Enough Space

When you are getting ready to install a hot tub in Glendale, you want to make sure that you have enough space.  For example, you need a bit of space surrounding the tub.  Why?
Well, what happens if you need to repair your hot tub? You're going to need to   leave extra space so that you or your repair person can easily get to both the pump and the motor, as we discussed in our last article.  Just remember, you have a bit to do before you install your hot tub.

Hot Tub Installation: What You Need to Do First

Remember, it isn't up to the delivery people to prepare the site for your hot tub.  That is entirely up to you.   As we discussed in our previous article, a hot tub + three people + the water is going to weigh about one ton.  So make sure that the area is even and solid, or you're risking your tub.  It is important to remember, that if your hot tub is damaged, and it is because you didn't prepare the site properly, then, your damage is not covered under warranty, and you're stuck with an expensive algae pond.
So remember, preparation is everything in life.  You prepare for an exam by studying for it.  You prepare your taxes by gathering your financial records.  And if you want to install a hot tub in Glendale, you need to prepare the place it is going to be.

Know What to Do First Before You Install a Hot Tub in Glendale | 623-776-7727
Ok, first off congratulations on your hot tub purchase.  The delivery will be in a few days, which is plenty of time to get everything you need ready for the installation.  First off, hopefully you've already got a location picked out.
If not, you have to think about whether you want to install an indoor hot tub or install an outdoor hot tub.  Whether the spa will be installed indoors or out,  bear this in mind: a hot tub that will hold three people will weigh at least a ton. Remember, it's not just the tub and the people.  It's also the water that adds a lot to the weight of the unit.  Now, that we've got that out of the way, let's talk about placement.

Where NOT to Install a Hot Tub in Glendale

Ok, first off, if your location has any power lines within 10 feet of it, don't install your hot tub here.  You also want to have a solid and above all else level foundation for your hot tub, so don't put it on bare ground.  You do not want your tub to be someplace where the discharge or overflow from the tub is going to cause a problem.  You also do not want to install your hot tub anywhere without sufficient space for someone to be able to access the motor and the pump.
So with all of these requirements in mind, in narrows where you can put your tub.  Ideally, you want to do this step before the installation team comes in, but we understand that things happen.  Just remember though, one of the most important things you can do before you install a hot tub in Glendale is to plan for it.
