Hot Tub:  Workouts and Stress Relief

Another way of relieving stress is to exercise.  Whether you want to do hard session of weight training or a brisk power walk, all forms of exercise are not just good for your overall health, they are excellent ways for resolving stress.  Before you do any form of exercise, consult your physician and also make sure that you warm up and stretch, particularly if you are planning a strenuous workout.  Make sure that you exercise a minimum of three times a week, and drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workout.  And make sure that you do something to help your muscles relax after any workout.
Hot tubs are great for a post workout soak.  Should you use a hot tub before you exercise?  Generally it is recommended to use a hot tub after a workout.  When you use a hot tub, your body will have some naturally occurring soporific compounds present in your bloodstream, so working out will  be harder.  Another thing you want to do right after a strenuous workout is to eat a healthy meal rich in protein and complex carbohydrates.  Your body will be needing glycogen and other nutrients. Exercising is a great way of relieving stress, however, there are other ways of stress relief that should be considered as well.

Stress Relief:  Learn to Breathe and Let Go

If you ever get stressed out, something as simple as breathing the right way can help you relax.  A lot of times, when people are in a stressful situation, their breath gets shallow.  If you take deep breaths, at least ten of them, it will help you to relax.  Also, make sure to relax your shoulders as well.  A lot of times, people naturally tense up when they are stressed, which is one of the main causes of muscular tension.  When you use a hot tub in conjunction with deep breathing, it can make a big difference in helping you to relax.
So remember, while it is impossible to eliminate stress completely from our lives, it is possible to reduce it and its effects.  So get plenty of rest, and exercise regularly.  Take a few deep breaths every now and then, and soak in a hot tub.
